Livestock Farm Complex

It functions as an independent unit under the Instructional Livestock Farm Complex (ILFC) and plays an important role in providing quality education along with practical experience, hands-on training to students and farmers in livestock management and rearing technologies.

1) Cow Farm:

Rearing and conservation of indigenous cow-breed is also one of those vital activities is being successfully implemented under the guidance of P. P. Adrushya Kadsiddheshwar Swamiji. The cow farm is one the most important part of LFC dedicated to the conservation, improvement and sustainable management of indigenous cattle. The farm having more than 1200 cows and 23 Out of India’s total 45 indigenous cow breeds viz. Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar, Deoni, Dangi, Khillar, Kankrej, Rathi, Nimari, Vechur, Pungnur, etc., are scientifically monitored and pedigree records are maintained regularly in LFC.
The farm is actively used for natural breeding, artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization programs to enhance genetic potential while preserving the purity of indigenous breed
Our cattle farm are maintained with a focus of animal welfare, biodiversity conservation and production of A-2 milk which is natural, nutritious and free from A1 protein.

2) Horse Stall

The horse stall is a specialized facility focused on advancing equine health, breeding, and practical veterinary training. It plays a key role in developing clinical skills, supporting research activities and promoting modern horse management practices.
Designed to provide real-time exposure, the stall helps students understand scientific approaches to equine care while encouraging hands-on learning and professional development. The horse stall contributes significantly to academic training by offering practical experience in horse health, behaviour and welfare.

3) Canine Center

A canine center at Siddhagiri Veterinary College is a well-organized facility dedicated to the care, management, and clinical training of companion animals. The total 103 Indian dogs available which includes Indian dog breeds like, Mudhol  Hound, Carvan hound, Gray Hound, Pashmi, etc. are available for natural breeding and It serves as an important center for veterinary education, providing hands-on experience in canine health, behaviour and welfare.
The canine center houses dogs of different breeds, ages, and health conditions, enabling students to gain practical exposure in handling, diagnosis, and treatment. The facility emphasizes scientific management, hygiene and animal comfort while ensuring proper nutrition and preventive healthcare.

4) Sheep and Goat Farm

The college has well-maintained Sheep and Goat Farm dedicated to small ruminant production, training, and research. It focuses on scientific management, breed improvement, and sustainable farming practices for sheep and goats.
The farm provides an ideal platform for students to gain practical knowledge in handling, breeding, feeding, and healthcare of small ruminants. Emphasis is given to disease prevention, productivity enhancement, and welfare of animals under different management systems.

5) Piggery

The Piggery Unit is a well-structured facility dedicated to scientific rearing of pig for the purpose of education and research. It plays a vital role in providing practical exposure to students in modern swine production, health management, and breeding practices.
The unit maintains large white Yorkshire pigs under hygienic and controlled conditions, focusing on productivity, disease prevention, and animal welfare. It supports academic and field-level training by demonstrating efficient pig rearing techniques suitable for commercial and rural farming systems.

6) Poultry Farm

Poultry:- a capacity of 1000 commercial layers  (3 tier Californian cage system), 1000 broilers, 20 Kaweri, 20 Blackastrolop  parent breeders, 20 battery brooders, hatchery unit of 1000 setting capacity and small scale of 500 capacity (setter cum hatcher). Chicks, hatching eggs and commercial eggs are being sold to the farmers
The Poultry Farm facility focused on scientific poultry production, disease control, and training. It supports both egg and meat production systems while promoting efficient and sustainable poultry farming practices.
The farm provides practical exposure to students in poultry management, nutrition, housing, and health care. It plays a significant role in teaching commercial and backyard poultry farming techniques.

7) Fodder Cultivation

The 40 acre land is engaged for the cultivation of fodder crops like Maize, Napier, Sorghum, Lucerne, Berseem, etc throughout the year.
